Ace Hood is Back With “Trust the Process” Project

Ace Hood is one of the most underrated rappers in my opinion. He has been relatively quiet on the music end for a while. But that dry spell seems to be over now. Ace dropped a new project titled “Trust the Process” and along with it several singles, most notably a singled title “Came with the Posse” which as the title suggests is a posse cut. The single takes on the topic of keeping only people you trust around you as well as keeping out people who weren’t with you when you were a nobody struggling and hustling for success.

The beat, which is produced by Foreign Teck, fits the style we’ve become accustomed to hearing from Ace; bangers. I haven’t gone through the entire “Trust the Process” project yet so I can’t make a completely well-informed judgment, but if “Came with the Posse” is anything to by it’s clear that Ace is not chasing trends. He has his own vocal delivery and rap style from which he hasn’t strayed. The hook is a no frills chant which suits the vibe of the track.

The single and the entire project as a whole was released under Ace’s own label “Hood Nation” as he’s no longer under the “We the Best” umbrella. Earlier this year DJ Khaled was on the Breakfast and during the discussion he was asked about his relationship with Ace Hood. Following the interview Ace tweeted out something to the effect of “if only what you said on the Breakfast Club were true my brother” which hinted that things had not been too good between the two individuals.

Ace was on the Breakfast Club a few days ago and he managed to state his side of the story mostly mentioning that he wanted to have his freedom to do what he wants without a label nagging. He also mentioned that Khaled is such a big voice that in a sense it overshadows him but nonetheless he’s thankful for what Khaled has done for him in his career thus far.
